National Forklift Safety Day Chair Ron Grisez of Crown Equipment

Ron Grisez, chair of this year’s National Forklift Safety Day, an annual event held by the Industrial Truck Association (ITA), is dedicated to promoting forklift safety through product design and global safety standards. “Global” is no exaggeration: While he now spends most of his time at Crown Equipment’s headquarters in New Bremen, Ohio, his work has taken him around the world.

Grisez joined Crown in 1994, when he was fresh out of college with a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Dayton. “I did not know anything about the forklift industry,” he recalls. “I grew up near Crown’s global headquarters in Ohio. Crown had a reputation as a great place to work, so I applied for an entry-level position within the engineering department.”
